Cambridge UP Procedure

If you are a researcher at IESE, have signed as a corresponding author on a journal article published in one of the Cambridge University Press journals included in the list, follow these steps to avail the Transformative Agreement and thereby publish your research in open access at no cost.

1. Article Management

Send your manuscript to a journal included in Cambridge Core.

Once the article has been accepted, review and send the Open Access Author Publishing Agreement available on the journal information page to Cambridge Core.

2. Select the Creative Commons License

The Creative Commons License regulates the rights assigned to other people over our research.

We suggest you choose the CC-BY-NC-ND License.

3. APC Transaction

Rightslink® works for Cambridge to manage the Article Process Charges (APCs).

When Rightslink® contacts you, specify UNAV in the “Affiliation Discount” section.

Elsevier Procedure

If you are a researcher at IESE, have signed as a corresponding author on a journal article published in one of the Elsevier journals included in the list, follow these steps to avail the Transformative Agreement and thereby publish your research in open access at no cost.

Article acceptance

Once your article has been accepted, you will receive an email from Elsevier asking you to complete the rights and access information form.

The article acceptance process consists of 6 steps:

1. Corresponding author

The author should select from the menu the institution where he or she works.

2. Information about coauthors

The corresponding author should add the institutional affiliation of his or her coauthors.

3. Information about funding

It must be specified if the article has received any type of funding.

4. Open Access and license type.

In this phase, you can choose between publishing in open access or publishing in subscription journals. The “Publish Open Access” option must be selected:

  • LICENSE TYPE: We suggest you choose the CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 License.

  • WORK COPYRIGHTSelect the appropriate option depending on whether you are the sole author or signed on behalf of all the authors of the work.
  • LICENSE ACCEPTANCE

In this section, the researcher is informed of the cost of the APC, including the discount for its totality if it is assumed by the transformative agreement. If the institution to which the author has referred does not confirm the affiliation, the author will receive an invoice for the indicated amount (without the discount), which must be paid within two weeks for the article to continue in open access.

5. Review order

Before accepting the order, the author can view a summary of all the selected options and the APC cost with the applied discount. We recommend carefully reviewing the order before accepting it.

6. Confirmation

Once the order is submitted:

  • The corresponding author and the coauthors receive by email a copy of a summary of the selected options.
  • The article will become open access within 24 hours.
  • The Libraries Service will confirm within three weeks the link between the corresponding author and the institution.
